I just love Christmas… I love how magical the little twinkle lights look everywhere from our tree to the mantle to our neighborhood’s decorations… The tastes and smells of this season make me feel so warm and cozy, and each and every moment feels just a little extra special.
I’m so glad we take some time to spend with each of our families before actual Christmas Day arrives. It gives us time to really sit and enjoy each other’s company, exchange gifts, and appreciate all of the blessings we’ve been given over the past year together.
This past weekend, we spent Christmas with my mom and dad, and brother and his girlfriend Karlie! Luckily the icey snowfall we got early Saturday morning didn’t affect our day, but getting out was a little dicey… If you follow my Instagram stories (@kirstensmithphotography), you may have noticed that we took our 29th annual trip to Valley View Farms in Cockeysville, Maryland to look around and pick out this year’s ornaments. I got a cute little garlic clove… I’ll share a pic soon! Afterwards, we came back to my and Tyler’s house to have dinner, celebrate mom’s birthday, and exchange our gifts.
Enjoy a little recap from the day!
Mom’s birthday was on the 8th so we celebrated together. Karlie made the most delicious chocolate cake with peanut butter icing for mom from scratch! It was absolutely divine….
Mom and dad always give Myah and Bax their own stockings… This year they were filled with candy cane raw hides! yah was beyond elated…
This is dad’s “oh wow!” and then “Gretchen – did you really get me this?” facial combo… He’s wanted all white dinner plates for a while, lol.
Jesse and I went in on getting our old home movies digitized for mom and dad! We went through legacybox.com and were so happy with the finished product! Definitely check them out!
We are so excited to finish the Christmas season out this week by spending time with the rest of our family… More sharing to come soon! Hope your holiday is safe, memorable, and magical!
