Welcome to Easton! A town my hubby and I hadn’t yet visited but were so glad we had the opportunity to for Corinne and AJ’s wedding day! It’s a quaint little town just over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge with brick sidewalks and cute little shops on every block… The Tidewater Inn sits right on the corner in the heart of town. It’s roots trace back to 1891. It was destroyed by a fire in 1944 (just like Congress Hall in Cape May was if you read Erin & Tony’s wedding post just before this one! Guess they’d lit one too many candles?? Who knows! But tragic none-the-less. Luckily it was rebuilt three years later, renaming it the Tidewater from it’s previous name, the Avon Hotel – opening for business in September of 1949. They celebrated their Grand Opening with nearly 4,000 guests! This is another beautiful venue in which the history feels so tangible. I can definitely see why Cori and AJ absolutely fell in love with it!
The girls got ready in an upstairs room. I love the bridesmaid’s mix of Adrianna Pappell and Jenny Yoo gowns… and Corinne’s gown from Francesca’s Bridal was absolutely perfect for her. I love the sleeves she had added… and the belt gave such a pretty vintage touch…
Corinne’s “something blue” was her grandmother’s ring…
She opened a gift from AJ before putting in her veil… beautiful diamond earrings!
AJ got dressed downstairs right before their First Look. He looked so handsome! I loved the berries in his boutonniere…
It was cold. And when I say cold, I mean colllllldddddd… They were such troopers out there… We definitely wanted to get outdoor portraits and even in the sunshine, everyone was chattering their teeth and freezing but we powered through!
Their first look was so sweet… They just smile and laugh together all the time and it’s absolutely adorable… AJ teared up when he saw his bride… And Corinne of course was radiating with joy!
The ceremony took place in a sweet little church a couple miles away… It was decorated for Christmas with wreaths and bows…
My Facebook page shows the video, but during the ceremony the officiant accidently said, “what God has joined together, let no one celebrate…” rather than “separate” and of course, everyone laughed…
Their reception space back at the Tidewater was gorgeous! Rich with deep red and green colors and warmly lit with candles… Little Boxwood sprigs were tucked into each napkin with a black and white nautical-inspired striped ribbon…
Meanwhile at Cocktail Hour, guests enjoyed the oyster bar and found their cute little Christmas ornament place cards…
Their reception was non-stop fun… After their first dance, the best man and maid of honor each gave a speech, followed by the parents of the bride. These two love to dance and had so much fun out on the dancefloor together with their guests! It was so fun to mingle around and witness everyone having such a great time…
Definitely a wedding to remember… We absolutely adored being part of capturing their story… Such an amazing day with so much joy, smiles, laughter, and love! Thank you to Corinne and AJ for being so warm and wonderful!! We absolutely loved this special day!!
